Agacharya

Agacharya (b. 1948, Karimnagar, Telangana) is a Hyderabad-based contemporary artist celebrated for his evocative depictions of rural Telangana and its enduring cultural traditions. A former art teacher, he completed his Drawing Higher Grade from the State Board of Technical Education & Training, Hyderabad, laying the foundation for a distinguished artistic career spanning several decades.

Deeply inspired by the landscapes, people, and folk traditions of his homeland, Agacharya creates paintings that preserve the spirit of Telangana's villages with warmth and authenticity. His works capture everyday rural life, agricultural practices, festivals, architecture, and the intimate relationship between communities and nature. Rich in narrative and emotion, his compositions serve as visual documents of a rapidly changing cultural landscape.
