Ramakrishna Vasanthula

Ramakrishna Vasanthula is a Hyderabad-based contemporary artist celebrated for his innovative approach to material, texture, and storytelling. His artistic practice seamlessly blends traditional Indian craftsmanship with contemporary expression, creating distinctive works inspired by nature, folklore, and the rich cultural heritage of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Potti Sriramulu Telugu University and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Painting from Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU), Hyderabad. Through years of experimentation, Ramakrishna has developed a unique visual language that incorporates paper pulp, woodblocks, and canvas, transforming everyday materials into richly textured works of art.

His artworks are deeply rooted in Indian traditions while embracing contemporary aesthetics, reflecting themes of mythology, rural life, ecology, and cultural memory. By combining unconventional materials with refined craftsmanship, he creates compositions that are both visually engaging and conceptually meaningful.
