Sayam Bharath Yadav

Born in Hyderabad in 1977, Sayam Bharath Yadav earned his BFA in Painting from Sri Venkateswara College of Fine Arts, Osmania University (2002), followed by an MFA in Painting and Printmaking from the University of Hyderabad (2004). Drawing from his upbringing in a family of traditional milk vendors, his practice is deeply rooted in the landscapes, livelihoods, and cultural traditions of rural Telangana.

Yadav's work has evolved from documenting pastoral life to addressing pressing environmental concerns. Using the recurring motif of the bull—often depicted wearing gas masks, goggles, or transformed into symbolic urban beings—he reflects on climate change, pollution, and humanity's growing disconnect from nature. Through these powerful metaphors, his paintings question the impact of modern development while advocating for ecological awareness and the preservation of our relationship with the natural world.
