Size: 44 x 44 inches
A native of Bihar and currently based in Delhi, Rekha Jha is a passionate Madhubani artist who found her way back to art after an academic detour. Rekha eventually devoted herself to the contemporary form of Mithila art. Her works reflect a deep connection to her roots, blended with a modern aesthetic that brings fresh life to an ancient art form.
Her painting showcased at Daivatvam is inspired by the Bhagavad Gita’s verse (10.20), where Lord Krishna declares that He resides in the heart of all beings and is the beginning, middle, and end of creation. At its center, the work portrays Brahma (the Creator), Vishnu (the Preserver), Mahadev (the Destroyer), and Lakshmi (Shakti), four divine forms symbolizing the eternal cycle of creation, sustenance, and dissolution. The border features the “God’s Eye” motif, expressing the omnipresence and all seeing nature of the Divine.
